摘 要：通过系统研读英语学界的研究成果，勾勒西方古代体育史研究的学术思想史。归纳出焦点议题：古希腊竞技的精英叙事、古希腊的体育赛会、西方古代体育的整体样态、体育与社会阶层、体育与性别规范、体育与权力和社会控制、体育物质文化遗产以及体育与文学、哲学和美学。指出西方古代体育史研究的演进趋势：从古典主义到社会史和文化史转向的理论基础演进，从传统史料到多元史料融合的研究方法革新，强调历史整体性、流动性和多样性的研究视角拓展，从“单一权威”到多重话语的叙事方式转向。建议我国学者进一步加强西方古代体育史研究的史料体系建设，推动古代体育史研究的理论创新与跨学科整合，构建我国古代体育史研究的本土化框架并积极参与全球学术对话。

Review and enlightenment on the study of ancient western sports history at English academic community

Abstract: By systematically reviewing the research results from the English community, this paper concludes the history of academic thoughts for western ancient sports history studies, and then summarizes the hot topics including: elite narratives of Greek athletics, Greek athletic festivals, the holistic history of ancient Western sports, sports and social stratification, sports and gender norms, sports and power and social control, the material cultural heritage of sports, and the relationship of sports to literature, philosophy and aesthetics. The study identifies the evolution trends for Western ancient sports history studies: the theoretical progression from classicism to social and cultural history, methodological innovation from textual analysis to diverse sources, expansion of research perspectives to emphasize historical coherence, fluidity, and diversity, and a narrative shift from single authority to multiple discourses. Given that above, it has been recommended that Chinese scholars should enhance the construction of the literature and archival systems for Western ancient sports history, promoting the theoretical innovation and interdisciplinary integration in ancient sports history studies, establishing a localized framework for researchingChina’s ancient sports history, and actively engaging in global academic dialogue.
